At Nike, the mission is simple: to bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete in the world. This singular goal inspires new technologies, new systems and new standards. Nike’s House of Innovation is the future of brick-and-mortar retail and highlights engaging, personal shopping experiences that respond as quickly—and as personally—as its digital counterpart. Inside, the promise of living retail comes to life. On each floor, groundbreaking features offer spaces and experiences that are both personal and responsive.

Problem

Nike iD has always been a digital experience. But customers have never been able to get a physical glimpse into the materials, laces, decals and more that they select while customizing their shoe. The Nike House of Innovation would offer a customization space where customers would be able personalize products, but needed a digital counterpart to help connect these two sides.

Solution

To coincide with the opening of the Nike House of Innovation in NYC, a unique Nike iD experience was created to allow store visitors to customize specific Nike shoes, while being able to see and touch materials and technology. Customers could select from Nike classics such as the Air Force 1, Air Max 1 and Air Zoom Pegasus, along with specific colors, innovations or materials.
